Ep. 38 of The Heart of Markness Podcast

This one was a joy to do, children. Jan. 12, 1975 was the first show of Led Zeppelin’s 1975 tour (supporting Physical Graffiti), and there were some problems.

Jimmy Page had broken the ring finger on his left hand, and Robert Plant’s voice was ravaged from a flu. They modified their set list, removing Dazed and Confused, and added When The Levee Breaks, and Wanton Song to this show. When they got to America they would add How Many More Times to substitute for Dazed until Jimmy’s finger could handle it.

We listen to Levee and Wanton Song, and they’re awesome. Enjoy!

Ep. 37 of the Heart of Markness Podcast

This is kind of a clip show. Some music is from the Jan 9th 1970 Royal Albert Hall Led Zeppelin show (not the songs that were officially released.) But since the rest of the recording HAS been officially released (on the DVD), I cannot share the recording. Sorry. Enjoy the show, though.

Heart of Markness Episode 35

The 1996 tour of Jimmy Page and Robert Plant was an amazing variety of unplayed songs, arrangements, and fun. This show is the Feb. 17 1996 Page/Plant concert in Nagoya, Japan.

This is a matrix of a superb soundboard and an excellent audience recording, and you will love it.

Jimmy and Robert dealing with the Florida heat.

This is one of the very few soundboards we have of Led Zeppelin in 1971, and it’s a beauty. This show, from Aug 31, 1971 is a top ten on many fans’ lists, with good reason.
