Ep. 137 & 138 – The Heart of Markness Led Zeppelin Podcast

We listen to an excellent multitrack recording from Jan. 22, 1973 in Southampton UK. We hear a raucous Whole Lotta Love w/ medleys, Thank You with mellotron, and for the 1st time since 1970, How Many More Times. Super duper cool.

January 22, 1973 is revisited and we hear Since I’ve Been Loving You, Dancing Days, and The Rain Song. A really good gig even with Robert’s flu voice. A great laid back concert.

Ep. 129 – The Heart of Markness Led Zeppelin Podcast

We listen to tracks from Zephead315’s audience compilation of Earls Court shows from 1975. Great performances and atmosphere. We hear Trampled Underfoot, No Quarter, and Tangerine (with 4 part harmony). Amazing compilation! You can download this show here: https://mega.nz/folder/ykVzCKgY#N3uUt7E3YBIqLG4dx3PhBg

Ep. 126 – The Heart of Markness Led Zeppelin Podcast

We listen to a glorious recording of Led Zeppelin’s first show in 2 years, July 23, 1979 in Copenhagen. The band plays with a relaxed intensity and Jimmy plays like 1973 again. Celebration Day, No Quarter, and Achilles are heard. Great one!

Ep. 89 – The Heart of Markness Led Zeppelin Podcast – 9/14/71

We listen to an excellent stereo vinyl rip of 9/14/71 in Berkley Cali. Insane performances of SIBLY and Dazed, as well as the mellow acoustic That’s The Way and Going to California. A great one, folks. I know I’ve covered this show before, but not like this.

An incredible recording of the ARMS tour from the LA Forum, December 6, 1983. We hear Eric Clapton, Joe Cocker, Jeff Beck, and Jimmy Page playing individual sets, as well as together, to benefit Ronnie Lane. A legendary tour.

Episode 83 – The Heart of Markness Led Zeppelin Podcast

We listen to November 7, 1969 San Francisco at the Winterland. Another great night as we hear a blistering Babe I’m Gonna Leave, a joyous What Is What Should Never Be, and boisterous Dazed and Confused. Great show.

Ep. 79 – August 4 1979 The Heart of Markness Led Zeppelin Podcast

I tackle the legendary Aug 4, 1979 outdoor concert by Led Zeppelin at Knebworth. This is considered by many to be the last great Zep show and it is a doozy. I use a great matrix recording of this show that you’ll enjoy.

The Heart of Markness Led Zeppelin Podcast – April 26, 1969

This is one of the best early Led Zeppelin shows around. April 26, 1969 at Bill Graham’s Winterland is a must have show, if only because it’s (probably) the first ever performance of Whole Lotta Love! Every single song in this set is golden. You can’t miss it.

Holmdel NJ June 30, 2000 – Ep. 75 The Heart of Markness Led Zeppelin Podcast

This show is incredible. June 30, 2000 in Holmdel, NJ, Jimmy Page and The Black Crowes blow the roof off the place. This is some of Jimmy’s best playing in decades. The Black Crowes are a perfect band for him and they synergize incredibly well. We hear Hots On For Nowhere (!), Your Time Is Gonna Come, Out On The Tiles, and AN INCREDIBLE LEMON SONG. Jimmy will blow you away.

October 7, 1988 Mike Millard 1st Gen – The Heart of Markness Led Zeppelin Podcast

A great Mike Millard recording of Jimmy Page’s Outrider tour at the LA Forum, October 7, 1988. Fantastic sound on Jimmy’s best post Zep tour. His playing is amazing, the setlist is mix of Zeppelin, The Firm, Death Wish 2, and Outrider stuff. A great one.
