Sept 3, 1971 Madison Square Garden – The Heart of Markness Led Zeppelin Podcast

Led Zeppelin played New York City on Sept. 3, 1971 and the crowd was wild! So wild they stormed the stage and it collapsed. This is a tape in which the crowd at times is louder than the band, but the show itself is amazing. This is a vastly underrated Zep show. Jimmy’s playing has an edge I’d not heard before.

The Heart of Markness Led Zeppelin Podcast – April 26, 1969

This is one of the best early Led Zeppelin shows around. April 26, 1969 at Bill Graham’s Winterland is a must have show, if only because it’s (probably) the first ever performance of Whole Lotta Love! Every single song in this set is golden. You can’t miss it.

Led Zeppelin: LA Forum June 21, 1977 Mike Millard Master

Here it is! The master recording of the legendary Listen to this Eddie show at the LA Forum 6/21/77, recorded by Mike Millard. This is the first of five nights Led Zeppelin played the Forum on their 1977 tour. We hear the master recording for the first time. Everything is a little bit clearer, crisper, closer. Close your eyes and it’s like you’re there.

Ep. 74 – The Heart of Markness Led Zeppelin Podcast

This show was taken from an FM broadcast from New Orleans October 1, 1998, and it smokes! Jimmy Page is on fire for the entire 1998 tour, but he gets better as the tour progresses, and this night is amazing. A great How Many More Times is played, with a bow solo, and even a bit of I Can’t Quit You. Great great performance.

The Heart of Markness Led Zeppelin Podcast – Episode 73

On February 27, 1972 Led Zeppelin played an outdoor show in Sydney, Australia. Zeppelin only toured Australasia once at it was a doozy! This is a high energy outdoor show to an appreciative Aussie crowd. Only live performance of The Rover as well. A good one!

October 7, 1988 Mike Millard 1st Gen – The Heart of Markness Led Zeppelin Podcast

A great Mike Millard recording of Jimmy Page’s Outrider tour at the LA Forum, October 7, 1988. Fantastic sound on Jimmy’s best post Zep tour. His playing is amazing, the setlist is mix of Zeppelin, The Firm, Death Wish 2, and Outrider stuff. A great one.

This is a fun one! Led Zeppelin on November 16, 1971 in Ipswich UK, at St Mathews Baths. A small gig on their Winter UK tour, debuting the brand new Led Zeppelin IV. We hear the ultra rare Gallows Pole, as well as brand new numbers Black Dog, Rock and Roll, plus a rollicking Whole Lotta Love, and Eddie Cochran’s Weekend. Top notch, folks.

Bloomington, MN Jan. 18, 1975 The Heart of Markness Led Zeppelin Podcast

The new soundboard fragment has been liberated by the Dogs of Doom and propogated by yours truly. There are only 4 songs, which seems to be the fashion of the bootleg market lately, and Wanton Song is cut after about a minute, but it sounds incredible. It’s worth hearing for Kashmir alone (still in its infancy as a live number). Jonesy is strong in this very professional sounding, balanced recording. You’re going to love it.

Ep. 65 of The Heart of Markness Podcast

This a wonderful show. July 17, 1973 in Seattle, Washington, Led Zeppelin blazes through their 9th North American Tour. I use two fantastic matrix sources, ZepHead315’s and Dario Romero’s remaster.
