Ep. 139 – The Heart of Markness Led Zeppelin Podcast: April 30, 1977
RIP Richard Cole. We listen to an upgraded source of April 30, 1977 at the Pontiac Silverdome. This is a much better source and a great show. We hear an awesome No Quarter and Achilles. 76,000 people were there. Amazing.
The band is taking this gig seriously, with a vibe that reminds me of the professionalism of Copenhagen 1979. Jimmy is on point!
We listen to a master recording of Led Zeppelin in San Diego on June 19th, 1977, from the archives of Mike Millard. Amazing sound. Bonzo is having some issues this night but Jimmy is on fire. An excellent SIBLY and Kashmir are among the songs featured.
Ep. 91 – The Heart of Markness Led Zeppelin Podcast
We listen to the underappreciated gem 6/26/77 LA Forum gig of Led Zeppelin. The 4th of 5 nights at the Forum. A great performance and fantastic playing on No Quarter and 10 Years Gone. Maybe my favorite ’77 gig.
Mike Millard Master – December 12, 1977 – The Heart of Markness Podcast
This is an excellent Mike Millard master recording of Queen from December 20, 1977 in Long Beach, CA. This is the News of the World tour and Freddie and Co. are in fine form. It doesn’t get better than this. I posted a show from March of that year a few months back.
This is a rare show featuring Robert Fleischman as lead singer, Journey played Long Beach, CA on August 14, 1977, opening for ELP. This is a Journey right on the cusp of the enormous fame that came from swapping Gregg Rolie and Robert Fleischman for Steve Perry and Jonathan Cain. This is a great hard rocking Beatlesy Progfest with insanely good sound from being a Mike Millard master release from JEMS. Enjoy.
Mike Millard Master – The Heart of Markness Classic Rock Podcast
We have another Mike Millard Master release from JEMS, and it’s Jethro Tull on the opening night of their tour in support of Songs from the Wood album, January 14, 1977. This may be the best sounding stealth recording I’ve heard. Unreal.
Led Zeppelin: LA Forum June 21, 1977 Mike Millard Master
Here it is! The master recording of the legendary Listen to this Eddie show at the LA Forum 6/21/77, recorded by Mike Millard. This is the first of five nights Led Zeppelin played the Forum on their 1977 tour. We hear the master recording for the first time. Everything is a little bit clearer, crisper, closer. Close your eyes and it’s like you’re there.
12/31/77 Mike Millard Master – The Heart of Markness Classic Rock Podcast
This is a fantastic recording of an excellent rock and roll band! Cheap Trick LA 1977 New Years Eve is the latest Mike Millard Master release. It’s a fun high energy show from a band making a name for themselves. A great one.
The Heart of Markness Classic Rock Podcast – Bonus Episode
We listen to a fantastic show from Dec 13, 1977 at the LA Forum, by Rod Stewart, in support of Footloose and Fancy Free. This is a Mike Millard master recording and as such sounds incredible. A great show.
By special request from a long time listener, and Patron, this episode features Led Zeppelin’s first of six nights at Madison Square Garden, NYC. June 7, 1977 is what Mimo wanted to hear and I can see why. It’s a powerhouse show and we hear it from a bass heavy (in a good way) soundboard recording.
