October 6, 1985 Wang Theater Boston – Heart of Markness Podcast
We listen to an awesome Dire Straits show from Oct. 6, 1985 at Boston’s illustrious Wang Theatre. Mark Knopfler kills it and plays a very high energy show. Great quality as well. Must have. The sound quality is tremendous.
This is a great recording by Joe Maloney, of Bad Company on their first headlining tour. Paul Rodgers sounds amazing as do the rest of the band. We get not only a bunch of great Bad Co. songs, we get a Mott the Hoople song, as well as a Free song. A wonderful experience. I was at this show. It was amazing. November 20, 1993, Orpheum Theater, Boston. Robert was just awesome. This show was in support of my favorite album of his, Fate of Nations.
Jimmy Page was at this concert, too. He was seated near the soundboard. My friend said he’d seen him and thought he was full of shit. Whoops. Jimmy and Robert discussed the possibility of reuniting, after this show. The genesis of Page/Plant occurred hours after this recording. Cool beans.
Here is the link to the complete show. It’s a very good to excellent audience recording. Recorded on a DAT so everything is clear. Enjoy. Thanks for listening.
