Ep. 211 – The Heart of Markness Led Zeppelin Podcast

This is a great one. Robert Plant November 3, 1993 Chicago on the Fate of Nations Tour. We hear an excellent recording of Robert in tip top form, with a great band. In the Mood (medley), Heaven Knows, and an incredible blues jam with James Cotton on harp. So so so good.

Ep. 210 – The Heart of Markness Led Zeppelin Podcast

We hear Coverdale/Page supporting their self titled album in Osaka on December 21, 1993. I play Shake My Tree, Slide it In, Take a Look At Yourself, & Take Me For A Little While (w/ sweet Jimmy solo). A baffling project but a great performance.

Mike Millard’s Last Known Recording: January 23, 1993

We listen to what may be Mike Millard’s last recording, Keith Richards at the Universal Amphitheater in LA on Jan. 23, 1993. Solo Keith has a great band and is in great spirits this night. A great show from a legend by a legend. You can download this complete show here: https://mega.nz/folder/ysVRQACD#–lBa-hqt66Bog5XDLEMWA

Ok, this one went off the rails. Neil Young with Booker T and the MG’s, July 3, 1993, Torhout, Belgium. Great audience/soundboard matrix recording. It gets silly. Neil and the band have a hard time with Helpless, and have to start over, and I just go berserk get all Dan Brown conspiracy crazy and decide all Neil’s songs have darker meaning. I laughed my ass off. I hope you do too. If nothing else the music is amazing. Booker T and the MG’s are solid as a rock behind Neil, and add some depth to the groove. Enjoy, friends. Ep. 32 – The Heart of Markness Podcast

I was at this show. It was amazing. November 20, 1993, Orpheum Theater, Boston. Robert was just awesome. This show was in support of my favorite album of his, Fate of Nations.

Jimmy Page was at this concert, too. He was seated near the soundboard. My friend said he’d seen him and thought he was full of shit. Whoops. Jimmy and Robert discussed the possibility of reuniting, after this show. The genesis of Page/Plant occurred hours after this recording. Cool beans.

Here is the link to the complete show. It’s a very good to excellent audience recording. Recorded on a DAT so everything is clear. Enjoy. Thanks for listening.
