Eric Clapton – LA 1975

With Carlos Santana, Keith Moon and More

This is an incredible sounding recording, another Mike Millard master recording, from August 14, 1975 at the LA Forum. Eric is joined by Keith Moon, Carlos Santana, and Joe Cocker.

Per usual for Eric in the post Layla era, the performance is laid back but very well performed. If you would like the entire show, you can download it here: https://mega.nz/folder/KotX1BiL#FWwX3s4Lt-Cqne6X32tHHw

Rush Live – London 1983

Signals Tour Wembley Arena May 21, 1983

Bonus Quarantine Episode – Rush London 1983 I had a request to do a Rush show from the Signals Tour. I decided on May 21, 1983 The band is playing insanely well, and the crowd is enthusiastic. If you love Rush you will love this.

Led Zeppelin Long Beach ’75

Ep. 56 of The Heart of Markness

This is one of the best live recordings out there. Mike Millard’s Led Zeppelin 3/11/75 is just superb. The performances are great and the audience recording sounds professional. Here the boys at their indulgent best. Dazed and Confused is played as well as the funky Whole Lotta Love/Crunge, a primal Kashmir, and a sublime Over The Hills And Far Away. Great stuff.

Led Zeppelin: NYC 1970

Sept. 19, 1970 – Evening Show

One of the best shows ever.

On Sept 19, 1970 Led Zeppelin played two shows at Madison Square Garden, in New York City. It was reported in the press that each member of the band earned $30,000 for less than six hours work. Good for them. They earned it because this show contains one of the hottest hours of live music I’ve ever heard.

Rolling Stones – Philly 1972

Bonus Quarantine Episode

We listen to a soundboard recording of the late show of the Rolling Stones, 7/21/72 in Philadelphia. This is the legendary STP tour supporting Exile on Main Street, and it’s the Stones at their peak. Absolutely brilliant performances of Love in Vain, All Down The Line, Midnight Rambler, and Uptight/Satisfaction. Beautiful. Enjoy. Exile on Main Street may be my favorite album of all time. It’s definitely my favorite Stones album. I hope this helps get rid of the Corona Blues.

Led Zeppelin Copenhagen ’79

July 24, 1979 – Episode 54 Heart of Markness

The Press Were Not Kind

We revisit Led Zeppelin’s July 24, 1979 show in Copenhagen, DK, which we discussed in my very first episode. I play Celebration Day, Over The Hills, Since I’ve Been Loving You, and the retooled version of Whole Lotta Love. This is an intimate warm up gig for the Knebworth shows, and it’s an incredible performance.

You can listen to this entire show, including (imo) THE BEST performance of Ten Years Gone, for free right here: https://mega.nz/folder/OpkBHRQQ#3y5xP_bIkjoFrE3I1KdP-g

Neil Young & Booker T 1993

Ok, this one went off the rails. Neil Young with Booker T and the MG’s, July 3, 1993, Torhout, Belgium. Great audience/soundboard matrix recording. It gets silly. Neil and the band have a hard time with Helpless, and have to start over, and I just go berserk get all Dan Brown conspiracy crazy and decide all Neil’s songs have darker meaning. I laughed my ass off. I hope you do too. If nothing else the music is amazing. Booker T and the MG’s are solid as a rock behind Neil, and add some depth to the groove. Enjoy, friends.
